Does taking a shower ever get boring?

Asked by TaoSan (7111points) May 11th, 2009

Think about it? How many “things” in your life have you begun and later quit because they lost their appeal, got boring whatever. Taking a shower tho, now here’s something for everyone. Shower in the morning, shower in the evening – it’s always fun. You can sing, think, play with things or yourself, and it even makes you smell good too! Never get’s boring, always fun! Did/could you ever get bored of taking a shower?

Of course it gets boring, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to do it..I should also mention that since I met my partner and we take our showers together, they’re anything but boring

Jude's avatar

Nope. Usually I’m in there thinking about the day ahead or at night after a long day, it helps with the winding down part.

@Simone_De_Beauvoir

I sense you need to spice up your shower routine ;)

DarkScribe's avatar

Not if you shower with the right person. It can get noisy though.

TaoSan's avatar

@DarkScribe

I like your style :)

Welcome to Fluther!

@Simone

HA! You never struck me as a dull-showerer :)

Jude's avatar

and, what @DarkScribe said..

Jeruba's avatar

It is never anything but. I want to be able to push a button and be clean and dry and not have to go through the process. Aquatic mammals never have to take showers, lucky for them.

I love to shower. It makes me feel so good. Not boring to me. Hubby & I can’t shower together, tho. His water is way too cool for me! I don’t know how he stands it. And I steam him out. But after we each get out, we’re then free to kernoodle. :-)

@DarkScribe yes, welcome to fluther. Have fun.

@TaoSan
@jbfletcherfan Thank you – I just discovered Fluther during a Google search. It look interesting. Usually I waste time on Yahoo Answers but at least this has interaction.

@DarkScribe

HA! You’ll be addicted in no time!

jbfletcherfan's avatar

That’s for sure. You’ll be howling at the moon in no time, LOL. ’-)

asmonet's avatar

Yeah, but you’ve got your hands.

Disc2021's avatar

Showering serves a purpose though – which usually isn’t to entertain you…

Although showering with someone makes it much more enjoyable =D.

asmonet's avatar

Well, if there’s no other warm body nearby…

Likeradar's avatar

Yeah, totally. And the whole after process too… lotion, dry and style hair, ugh. Sometimes it seems like a big pain. I just went out for a jog and I’m getting picked up to go to a show in a few hours. I need to shower, but it just seems so boring. I don’t wanna.

Waaah. Life is hard!

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@Likeradar this is why the times when I had dreadlocks were the greatest

Likeradar's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir If I could instantly have them right now, I would! My hair process is like 20 minutes minimum, and I’m not even prissy.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@Likeradar so, get ‘em, or cut your hair off

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@asmonet ah…..yes. haha

aprilsimnel's avatar

Huh! It’s never occurred to me to be bored by taking a shower. It’s like brushing my teeth or making my bed in the morning; the thing you do, and in a few minutes it’s done. My mind is usually otherwise occupied when I shower.

TaoSan's avatar

Update:

I just took another shower, and boy it was sooooo not boring :D

mammal's avatar

orgasming in a shower is as blissfull as it gets

DragonFace's avatar

Taking a shower is totally boring until i get my girlfriend in there :-D

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@TaoSan LOLLLLLL, feel better, do we?

The_Compassionate_Heretic's avatar

It’s a shower. I think of it like I do sweeping the floor.

El_Cadejo's avatar

I <3 showers. I usually take really long showers cause its a quite place to just zone out and think.

off to take a shower…..

Likeradar's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir I fully admit I am much too vain when it comes down to it.

augustlan's avatar

Usually I think of showering as just one more chore. Not so much boring, more like a waste of my time. It must be done, but I’d certainly rather be doing something else.

Dansedescygnes's avatar

Well yeah, I don’t really like getting up every morning and showering and then going to school. But I really don’t shower in the evening…it’s a waste of water and I don’t need it.

chyna's avatar

@TaoSan Details, details.

The bathroom has the best acoustics. Also, there’s a window in my shower. I can open it and watch things outside. I’ll admit it, sometimes I still try to make my hair into weird shapes with shampoo. It usually doesn’t work though, my hair is too long now.

knitfroggy's avatar

I’ve never gotten tired of showering. It’s just a part of life, like hair styling and toothbrushing. Even if I did get bored with it, the no showering alternative is scary.

casheroo's avatar

I actually have to drag my ass into the shower, I hate getting them unless I’m in the mood. I love them when I’m in there, but no motivation to actually get in. I just hate getting naked and being cold before stepping in. Lucky for me, I have a spouse who doesn’t care that I don’t care about showering. lol. And the nickname my parents gave me as a child still holds true hahah

aprilsimnel's avatar

@casherooThey didn’t call you “Stinky,” did they? Aww…!

El_Cadejo's avatar

@casheroo hah im the same way. I didnt get a shower yet…. i planed on it two hours ago but didnt get up yet to go. I know once im there ill be happy, just getting there….... lol

ubersiren's avatar

Not for me. I’m usually deep in thought. I can get pretty dark in there. Also I like to experiment with different bath products (non- sexual). Does anyone know where I can get Herbal Essences original scent?

mcbealer's avatar

@TaoSan ~ what a difference 24 hrs makes… glad you’re feeling better today buddy :)

Oh and for me, I’m a last minute shower kinda person, so it’s usually rush rush, unfortunately.
Not really boring, more like a gotta-get-this-done… quick!

El_Cadejo's avatar

@ubersiren try hemp conditioner. softest and silkiest hair ever

DarkScribe's avatar

It is strange how we react under differing circumstances. If I am out in the bush, or at sea on a yacht there are often periods where I can’t shower, and it doesn’t worry me, but at home I can’t sleep unless I have showered and feel fresh. Plus there is the “romance” aspect that usually occurs when a man gets into bed with a sexy woman – being un-showered then would not add to the mood.

casheroo's avatar

@aprilsimnel haha, close. they called me Stinky Tinky. I used to be mortified by it, but it doesn’t bother me anymore.

In my case, I vastly prefer a bath to a shower in large part because of the way our bathroom is designed. Our shower stall is one of those white fiberglass upright coffin type deals. You step into it, close the door, wash yourself while staring blankly at the walls, open the door, and go back to the real world. However, our tub is very large and oval and set under a giant window so plenty of sunshine comes in. It is very pleasant to watch the birds and the clouds while bathing, and the cats stop by periodically to say “hi” so you aren’t lonely. You can read or listen to music or solve the world’s problems and still end up clean.
