I’m not much of a movie buff anymore, but I have to watch Cast Away when it’s on.

I was lucky to see 300 at the Palms IMAX (which claims to be seven stories tall) in Vegas. That was a freakin’ movie.

I wouldn’t expect agreement from anyone, but I loved Enemy at the Gates (a Soviet Saving Private Ryan).

Mulholland Drive (great mind bending movie. hot lesbian scene.)

Snow Cake was quite a sleeper. Incredible landscapes and an interesting storyline.

Casino Royale brought Bond back to life and has an amazing chase scene in the beginning.

Blood Diamond is excellent and feels like two movies in one.

Lost in Translation is where I first fell in love with you know who.

I cried at the end of Brokeback.

Master and Commander- honorable mention.

Phantom of the Opera (2004), 300, Sin City, The Prestige. I try to remain unbiased, and simply cite these movies based on acting talent (not size of name either) and the quality of image and directing. I believe these movies are able to be thoroughly enjoyed by the masses, and stand the test of time greatly, although since they are less than a decade old, that is only my prediction. Sadly, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is too old for this list, otherwise it certainly gain my approval.

Though I rarely watch movies, I’d consider the Incredibles a classic already. Stated in informal terms, Helen Parr totally owns.

My Top includes No Country for Old Men, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Eternal Sunshine, Memento, the Incredible, Kill Bill, Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon, Mission to Mars, 28 Days Later and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Many of my favorites have already been mentioned so I’ll just add some new titles.
In terms of movies that moved me: Crash, Transamerica, Pan’s Labyrinth, Good Night and Good Luck, Ghost World, and Amores Perros. I will call out Children of Men and Lost in Translation again, because they’re worth repeating.

In terms of movies that were really entertaining: the early Harry Potter installments (I was so afraid they were going to destroy them), Little Miss Sunshine, Juno, Million Dollar Baby, Sideways, Adaptation, Catch Me If You Can, About a Boy, and the first Spider-Man.

No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
Inside Man (@ninjaholic – Isn’t Clive Owen awesome?)
I have to agree with Kingkamandi about 28 Days – probably the best modern zombie movie, and an amazing movie in general
The Life Aquatic

And I know non-trek fans (and some fans) will probably disagree with me on this, but I loved Star Trek: Nemesis – I think Data’s death was probably the closest I’ve ever come to crying during a movie.

I’m missing a ton. but I’ll just have to think some more
