How long does it take to get served divorce papers after your soon to be ex files the petition?

depends on the state
but when my ex ‘filed’ (i filed for him but not legally) for divorce, the papers that were served were together already with everything, we did it ourselves, no lawyers…so I served him with them so that he can serve me with them before it was filed in court…and I believe when I got served with them I had a month to respond
