From wikipedia: There are 929 chapters in the Old Testament and 260 chapters in the New Testament. This gives a total of 1,189 chapters (on average, 18 per book).

There are 66 books, I have never counted the chapters. I’ll start now.

The Bible is a very long book. It is like Tolstoy, except the role of God is slightly more coherent in Tolstoy.

Also, don’t forget that several books were omitted for various reasons – mostly for not reinforcing the view of Christianity that the editors desired. Another great reason not to take the Bible literally… How could that possibly have been their intent if they omitted content? But, I digress…

That depends on which Bible you mean. There are six! different Bibles:

1. Jewish
2. Protestant
3. Catholic
4. Anglican
5. Greek-Orthodox
6. Ethiopian

They contain anywhere from 24 books to 81 books but I can’t supply you with the number of chapters. You might be able to find out online.
