What are the best places to shop for bridesmaids dresses?
My best friend is getting married and I need to get a dress. We are not wearing matching dresses but they have to be the same color. I have already checked out JCrew, Banana Republic and Ann Taylor. Any other suggestions? I don’t want a dress made of typical bridesmaid material (taffeta, etc) rather something I can wear to other weddings, parties, etc. Any ideas?

Oh – I see you’ve already checked out Jcrew bridesmaid’s line. I was going to suggest to go directly to those because of the all the bridesmaid’s dresses I’ve seen, they have the most classic cuts, the least bridesmaidy-type materials, and do duty for many other occasions.
My next try would be Anthropologie where you will undoubtedly have to pay a lot, or Macy’s – which has a great selection of higher-end designers like Tracey Reese. Check out her ‘Frock’ line.
Oh yeah – and I forgot to mention the bridesmaid’s section of Bluefly too. You can look up dresses by color on this site.
Check out Nordstrom you can also order online from them. Thet have the most beautiful dresses.
JCPenney has some nice dresses in their Jones Wear collection. Also, I don’t know if you have a B.Moss near you (they don’t have a website) they have some great dresses. I almost chose my bridesmaids dresses from their regular dress racks.
japan. they have cute maid-costumes.

Not the first place you’d think to look, but I’m in a wedding that has one of these as the bridesmaids dress and I LOVE it… finally a bridesmaid dress you really can wear again.
My daughter picked out fabric and had the bridesmaids pick paterns and have them sewn.
Milanoo is selling many styles of high quality wedding apparel including bridesmaid dresses Hope you can find what you need here.
