Live theatre. Books. Travel.
That’s only three, but it’s enough to keep me plenty busy.
Cars, guitar (music in general), my dog, girls, the Ohio State University
In order: Science, art, travel, theatre and jazz.
You made me choose five. If I could add one more, I’d add photography. I’m pretty busy, I guess.
Music, massage therapy, knowledge, organizing, the pursuit of happiness.
I’ve always had a passion for music ANY type of music.
Duke Ellington once said “there are two types of music good and bad I like them both.”
Other than music I enjoy reading Westerns because good and evil are easily defined.
In no particular order: Monica Bellucci, languages, football (soccer), sarcasm, and writing witty responses to questions of all kinds.
Music, Art, MMA, Snowboarding and Family.
Beer, music, beer, art, and um… Beer!
In no particular order: film, literature, gender studies, psychology, linguistics.
Social Justice, teaching, my kids, tango, my partner
(also in no particular order)
@jmah Mixed Martial Arts. You are probably more familiar with UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), MMA is what we refer to our fighting disciplines as since we are trained in multiple types of fighting/defense styles.
Debate, drawing, daydreams, dumbbell drudgery, d… language. Shoot, I was on an alliteration roll.
There’s also Tai Chi. That’s not with a D either. It’s also number six.
Music is the biggest one. First only because it was my passion all my life, before I ever thought of having a family.
Family is also a big one. Before I became husband and dad, it was my mom & dad & siblings. Now it’s 9 y/o daughter, wife, and adult children.
Travel. I have traveled a lot in my life. I could probably write a verse or two of my own to the song “I’ve Been everywhere!”
Language…I love the study of language. When I write, I’m a stickler for correct grammar, except when a grammatically incorrect version will produce a desired effect. When I was a kid, I used to spend hours with “Webster’s Unabridged” following up the etymologies of different words. Also related is a curiosity as to the meaning of names, both first and last.
Science/math—I’m a pretty big geek when it comes to anything technical. I especially enjoy conversations when they begin to blur the boundaries between science and philosophy.
sculpture (mostly wood but getting into rock), tennis, my dogs, art in general, and books.
linguistics, all things tolkien, coldplay, microbiology, cultures
theater, books, learning, Pittsburgh, and all things Disney
ice cream too, but that’s less of an interest and more of a love…
In no particular order:
Music
Art
Travel
Philosophy
Love/sex
My family, reading, writing, art, and sex.
