One indispensable article of clothing?

I generally avoid speculative questions on the formula “If you could ~~ just one ~~, what would it be?” but decided to break my own rule. I was thinking of this while traveling, being thankful that I’d brought the right things.
I have a beautiful woven jacket that came from here. I bought it seven or eight years ago at a Dickens Fair in San Francisco, and it still looks new and garners many compliments. It’s a gorgeous, dense weave in rich colors, and it’s machine-washable. It’s versatile, goes with jeans and also with a nice skirt, is warm, and has the supreme virtue of being comfortable. If someone yelled “Fire! You can save just one thing from your closet before you run,” that’s what I’d grab.
Do you have an article of clothing you’d prize above all others?

My black leather jacket. It’s not a biker type jacket, but a dressy jacket. Goes with just about everything, too.
My leather jacket. Goes with anything but is durable, takes abuse and can look dressy or casual.
@chyna- good taste!
My old sneakers that I use for cycling and walking, that my kids think are prehistoric, that my dog loves to chew if she could get them, that are still fine and are my way of scoffing at the necessity to pay a ransom for what is just a shoe.
My gortex anorak.
You can stand underneath the showerhead with that thing on, and you won’t get wet.
A comfortable pair of jeans.
None. There is no single piece of attire that works for everything and anything can be replaced.
My orange Vans. I would wear them everyday even if they didn’t match every color.

Yes and every couple years I’ll find a new style and buy a 4–5 pairs of the perfect fit. For now it’s Tommy Hilffigger. I wear them until the legs fall off.
Above all else, my feet must be comfortable, so any pair of shoes/boots of mine. They all happen to be Uggs. If a pair of tall sheepskins were grabbed, I’d simply cut them down (I live in Los Angeles).
Don’t mean to repeat what’s been said, but my leather jacket. It’s black with a brown swede maltese cross on the back. I lurve it.
Also, this one particular pair of black jeans. They’re broken in nicely, fit me comfortably and are kinda like my go-to pair of jeans when I’m out on a casual day. They’re worn down a bit, I have many memories of me wearing them; I’d feel lost without them :[
My shoes with the orthotics in them. I can buy more t-shirts and jeans, and I can buy more New Balance and Birkenstocks, but those orthotics cost $600 and are one of the few ways I can walk without pain.
I have dogs and children, so pretty much all my “favorite” clothes have been chewed on, used for dress-up, or have disappeared into someone else’s closet. Once upon a time it would have been my lovely hand-made purple cape that I bought at the Renaissance Faire, but the dog ate a chunk out of it and then my son somehow thought it would be good padding for sitting on his skateboard, so it is long gone.
Absolutely nothing. In fact, I would throw as much of my clothes as possible into the flames so the insurance company would have to replace them. I have not had any new, nice clothes for years and years.
Nope. I cherish all of my clothing…and shoes…and undies :)
A pair of Jack Purcell’s. I always have a pair. My current pair is navy blue.
My low heeled, rubber lugged leather boots. I can wear them over jeans, under jeans and under skirts in most weather conditions.
Plain black leather Merrells with backs on them. If my feet aren’t happy, I can’t go out, and don’t need any other clothes.
My black Northface.
Until I (sniff) LOST it.
My favorite pair of Levis 501s. They’re just the perfect amount of worn out.
I’m going to go by the what would you grab in a fire part of your question. That would be my 1930s or 40s vintage full length, long sleeve black velvet coat/robe. I love it and have never seen anything else like it, however, it is probably the absolutely most impractical, least indispensable thing that I own, but it is the most irreplaceable, so that’s the one thing I would grab in a fire.
My green Aeropostale jacket with the fur inside. It can go with any pair of jeans or sweatpants, any T-shirt. It’s the most comfortable thing I own, with an X-Large size and enough room and comfort to last me for years. :)
I don’t have any piece of clothing I particularly care about, but if I had one of those Greentree Weaving garments, I might! I’ve been looking for something like that to wear when I do gigs. Not that I would ever spend that kind of money on an article of clothing (which is perhaps why I don’t have any I care about).
My late Dad’s old military beret he wore in serving for the Canadian army in WWII. I always wanted it as a boy, and he gave it to me just before he died 5 years ago. My sons will have it when i die.
