What do you like/dislike about Tumblr?

Like – Interface, share bookmarklet, ease of use, customization options, theme collection
Dislike – Tumblarity

@mirza I don’t understand Tumblarity. What the hell is it?

I like how hip Tumblr. It definitely has a different vibe and audience to it than other kind of blogging sites—I mean, when I first stumbled onto Tumblr, I was just really struck by how “cool” and youthful it was. I don’t know how to describe it.

That said, Tumblr is kind of soul-less. It doesn’t have that communal kind of atmosphere like Livejournal does or Wordpress… etc. Tumblr isn’t meant to be those things, but there’s an emptiness there because of that. Most Tumblogs I’ve seen are collections of pretty things. Nice, aesthetically pleasing collections of pictures and quotes… but they don’t mean anything. Maybe I’ve only been looking through the wrong Tumblogs or whatever, but the majority come off as superficial and pretentious, honestly.

I like all the features in tumblr. Just wish you could install tumblr on your own webserver like wordpress or drupal.

Comments in tumblr would be great :), I know there is disqus and stuff like that, but something that worked natively would be better.

@easiseness: Tumblarity is sort of like a score that tells you how popular your tumblr is. Also thats how your tumblr is ranked on the tumblr directory. i dont really get how the algorithm works but its based on the # of posts, followers, liked posts and reblogs

turns out i like almost everything about tumblr. it is SO FUN.
but i am following like 100 people, and it keeps telling me i’m only following 95, and sometimes i want to look at the list to check out a specific tumblr, and i can’t find it! annoying.

I love Tumblr! I don’t even know why I love it so much, I lack followers greatly lol, but hopefully I’ll get more followers over time. The only thing I don’t like is how you can’t comment back to replies, and I don’t like how the server has been down all day :(
