What's the easiest way to put 1. email addresses, and 2. "Favorite" web addresses from my old computer to a new one (Vista)?

What email program are you using? There is likely an export utility for email contacts for whatever program you’re running.

If you’re using IE, go to “start” and select “search”. Search for a file named “favorites”. Manually copy that file to the new computer in your “my documents” directory.

If you have Firefox, go to bookmarks and select “organize bookmarks”. Then use the import/backup utility. Then copy those bookmarks over to the new computer and run the same utility.

The terms you are looking for are “Export” and “Import”. If you do Google searches for those and your program name, you should be able to find out how to export and import your email address book and your favorites.

It’s not my address book. I have nothing in that. It’s the names that appear when you type in a letter at the “TO” box.

I found a procedure. A pain since it was not accurate for Vista, but successful once I resolved the problems.
