It was staged. Eminem could have easily got out of the way or him and his body guards would have beat Bruno’s ass if it was real. Totally fake and I bet he made a lot of money for that joke.
I hope that was real. Eminem is such a tool.

I’m with @elijah Eminem is a complete tool. Dude 1took his name from a tasty candy that melts in your mouth not in your hands. WTF?
The thing is, I think Bruno/Borat/Sasha Baron Cohen is a tool as well. Anyone who makes their living by humiliating people – and calls it comedy – just doesn’t sit well with me.
Watching it again, I’m fairly sure it’s staged based on the number of times that the camera cut to Eminem even before Bruno fell. They also cut to Eminem on the outro to the commercial when mentioning that Bruno was next. Am I reading to far into this stuff? :)
@Supermouse, while I don’t like Eminem at all either, I’m pretty sure that his name came from his initials MM so he put them together to get Eminem (M and M).
Obviously staged. Eminem was wearing a radio microphone which is what made him so easy to hear and not muffled. Bruno was not holding the microphone to his face. When Eminem walked off, you could also hear him talking, which would not have happened had it not been for his radio microphone.
@Supermouse yes, Eminem got his name by putting his initials together, and then spelled it out the way it sounds.
