Go skydiving and use a squirrel suite. I hear it’s the closest thing to flying.

Try pushing your arms in a flapping motion. Birds are great creatures to study from. If you can’t emulate their motions properly, try enlisting the help of a local flier.

Another alternative would be to lower the gravity of your area to the point of being able to jump and sustain yourself with flapping motions. This would bypass the takeoff procedure altogether.

does falling = flying?

Man has been trying to answer this question for ages. Our bodies are not created to fly without assistance. You can seek to emulate flying by jumping out of an aeroplane or by doing something like hang gliding. But these are just tools to help use pretend like we’re flying. I’m not sure if you expected a real answer to this…but it’s not possible without the use of tools.

Flying unaided is quite easy, once you develop the knack. Douglas Adams describes it simply as falling, but missing the ground. Of course, there may be difficulties: “One problem is that you have to miss the ground accidentally. It’s no good deliberately intending to miss the ground because you won’t. You have to have your attention suddenly distracted by something else when you’re halfway there, so that you are no longer thinking about falling, or about the ground, or about how much it’s going to hurt if you fail to miss it.”
