iTunes: how to "deauthorise" computers I no longer have?

Currently linked to my iTunes account are 3 computers that are “authorised” (you can only have up to 5) – the problem is that I only use one of these “computers”, the other two “computers” are just from seperate times I had to reinstall my operating system. Is there a way to deauthorise these “computers”, considering that they don’t exist anymore?
I have tried following guides on the web which say to go to the iTunes Store, then to My Account, and click on something like Deauthorise All Computers, but this option isn’t available for some reason? Could it be because I’m using an Australian account?

Go to iTunes Store and click on your account in the upper right and from there, reauthorize all computers. Then reauthorize computers you are still using.
Hmmm… I’ve Googled a bit more, and it was mentioned here and also here that the option to deauthorise all computers is only available when the 5 computer authorisation limit has been reached.
So I guess I’ll have to wait until after I’ve authorised more than 5 computers to reset it (not that it matters, but it’s good to know that it can be done if the time comes)
Thank you for your replies :)
I ran into this problem some time ago; you can contact Apple from the contact link in iTunes and then request the reset; they don’t ‘like’ to do this but they say that they will do it once a year per acct.
I’m trying desperately to deauthorize one of my computers, 4 of which have been sent to repair so no longer exist.. my computer gets sent away a LOT and last september i deauthorised all the computers to start again.. when i went to do that agin (january) it said i had to wait a year before deauthorizing all computers again. And i cant find the ‘deauthorise’ link ANYWHERE on the itunes on my friends computer. Help someone?
@moveinstereo: have you tried email support for Apple yet? I think (while not assuming) that they will at least hear you out on this one…good luck.
It worked for me! had numerous computers which i no longer use and all 5 spaces were taken up. i clicked the deauthorise button and re-authorised my computers. thanks for that
For anyone still looking for the answer to this (as I was today):
“Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The ‘Deauthorize All’ button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months.”
