Does anyone know what they're local movie theater charges to advertise on screen?

Asked by Foolaholic (5804points) June 10th, 2009

Either private theater or member of a chain doesn’t matter to me, but I’m trying to get some sort of consensus. Specifically, I would be looking to advertise on a single screen for a couple months.

I’ll bet the local movie theater does.

Are you talking about a slide or a actual 30 second ad?

slide ads. In reality, I’m just trying to establish what an average price is for the theater company I work for. Every time I call a theater to inquire, they reroute me to 1–800-screen1, which wants me to actually file for advertising space before I can get quotes. I was just wondering if anyone knew an easier way.

I used to be a projectionist and had to deal with rotating out the slides. I saw a price list once. For our theater that had 8 screens and about 2500 seats it was about 1000$ to have a single slide in rotation on all of the screens for a month.

It was the moment I realized why management cared so much about the slides.

edit :: I left that job in 1999. So that info is old.
