Selected by you or your partner? And was it radio, LP, CD, MP3?

“promised you a miracle” by simple minds
My girl’s moaning melody.
None. We didn’t want to wake up the rest of her family.
There aren’t any 2 hour long songs, so none :)
None. We were of a generation that didn’t listen to non-stop music.
None. I lost my virginity when I was 19 on a boat with a Lebanese girl. No music.
I hate making love to music. Too distracting.
The TV was tuned to a Benny Goodman concert. My GF was a clarinet player.
“When I Need You,” by Leo Sayer. That’s right: 1978.
@gailcalled And what generation, pray tell, is that? Sounds awful!!!
Paul Simon’s and Art Garfunkle’s “The Sounds of Silence.” We all aged with minor hearing loss, I might add. Plus or minus? You decide.
A video on the TV, something really lame and horrible like the rest of the experience. Blah.
I think I win this question. (with the most horrible answer)
Yeah by usher was playing on repeat.
God, why’d you remind me???
‘Sailing’ by Christopher Cross on LP.
That is a wonderful memory.
@robmandu: Lurve for your topics!
something by alpha or herbert if i remember correctly.
I really don’t think there was any music playing trying to remember, there was no tv in the room and possibly no stereo…hmm I’m thinking it was just us two, talking and most likely giggling.
Nothing. The popular guy used me. He didn’t have time to put music on.
not a great first experience
What a rotten memory to have. Sorry to hear it.
Aww, @jonsblond. :(
That happened to a few girls I knew in HS with the same guy.
The Adore album by The Smashing Pumpkins on Valentines day when I was 16. Probably the softest mellowest and most fuckable Pumpkins album. We were both big fans of the band and it was fairly new album at the time.
CD? MP3? Thanks for the vote of confidence! :)
Her parents were coming home soon so we just ran up to her room and pulled the clothes off.
@westy81585
It took you 1hour and 58 minutes to get her bra off??? :)
Frank Sinatra, Stranger in the Night on the car’s AM radio. Two weeks after we met, one week before we got married. (It was THAT good!)
this popular guy actually did bother to put on music and also had time to snap a trophy photo for his wall of impersonal fucks. the song i remember best is ‘makin good love’ by avant because now if i hear anything relatively like, i wanna hurl. it wasn’t a bad experience, it just wasn’t great.
There was a beer commercial on tv.. i think it was a bud light thing. Kinda lame i know.
I don’t remember specifically, but it was probably Depeche Mode or The Smiths. That’s what we were listening to at that point in time. It was either an LP or a cassette tape
None. I was too young to own a radio and in those days (Sixties) there was nothing else in the way of portable music.
There was supposed to be music?
Merry-Go-Round Broke Down was playing in my head the entire time.
R.E.M. – Losing My Religion.
College in the 90’s. I’m almost surprised that it wasn’t Nirvana.
@cak
awesome! I wish i was into REM around the time I lost mine, I love them
I, coincidentally, lost mine to nirvana. Haha, I don’t know which specific song, but we were listening to In Utero.
Either the first or second side of the album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John.
The Dark Side of the Moon Album on CD. I’m not sure who picked it, I think it was just a random pick any oh that’s a good one just put that on….
This one:
A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
They call it @robmandu
And now
Open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We are in @robmandu
A million lights are dancing
And there you are
A shooting star
An everlasting world
And you’re here with me
Eternally
@robmandu, @robmandu,
(now we are here)
In @robmandu
@robmandu, @robmandu,
(now we are here)
In @robmandu
@robmandu, your neon lights will shine
For you, @robmandu
The love
The echoes of long ago
You needed the world to know
They are in @robmandu
The dream
That came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to @robmandu
A million lights are dancing
And there you are
A shooting star
An everlasting world
And you’re here with me
Eternally
@robmandu, @robmandu,
(now we are here)
In @robmandu
@robmandu, @robmandu,
(now we are here)
In @robmandu
Now that I’m here
Now that you’re near in @robmandu
Now that I’m here
Now that you’re near in @robmandu
@robmandu…
I nominate @Blondesjon for the grand Fluther prize.
That was just so… beautiful. Makes me want to lose my virginity all over again.
Hey wife! C’mere!
stereo typical scene. no music, on a blanket at sunset, in, of all places, a wheat field… boy could I put on the moves in my day…
All I remember is Dial soap afterwards. Ever since then I can’t stand that smell.
There wasn’t any music playing when I lost my virginity but there was a lot of rhythmic breathing, spoken endearments, and the sounds of satisfaction between me and my partner. In essence, we wrote and experienced our own song in our lovemaking.
I’m pretty sure it was Grieg’s The Last Spring.
Now that I think more about it I think the song was Brown Chicken, Brown Cow.
All in the Groove by Blues Traveler would be a fitting accompaniment if I were to pick one now.
So, no one chose “Bolero”?
@susanc that’s disturbing.
@SirBailey i couldn’t think of anything more delightfully awkward.
Anyone ever made love to “Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi”? #
So, no one chose “Barry White”?
A little lacking in subtlety for a first time, isn’t it, @gailcalled? There are some nice and very apt crescendos in the Grieg, and considerably more romance.
@oratio, that piece, the whole thing, is my number one choice for considerably darker moods. Very cathartic. I always feel cleansed afterward.
