I have an old humpback trunk that I want to store wool shirts in. But how do I keep moths out of the trunk and away from the delicious wool?

Camphor (mothballs) is usually effective. It is toxic to small children, so do not use it on children’s clothes.
You could try lining it in cedar, or just throwing in some cedar sachets. It smells a lot better than mothballs. Alternatively, you could pack your sweaters in those ‘space bags’, and then store them in the trunk.
Also, cedar blocks can help repel moths, as can herbs such as lavender and rosemary. Replace blocks or sachets periodically or reactivate with drops of essential oils.
Make sure the woolens are clean before being put in the chest so no traces of food or perfume can attract moths and so you are certain there are no moths eggs on them. Also, clean the chest itself thoroughly for the same reason. Also, see if you can make the chest essentially air tight so moths can’t get in to lay eggs.
Moths like humidity so make sure the chest is not in a bathroom or other humid part of your house.
Check the contents of the chest every now and then to be sure all is still well.

@bea2345 how do you do that?
I know the answer but I am not going there.

Throw some cedar in there. Surprisingly, there’s something on earth that doesn’t like the scent of cedar wood!
Thank you all! @Augustian: special thanks for the link. I’m going down to measure the chest bottom!
I’ll bite. Try a kevlar bra.
