I would like to live in a tropical climate that is safe for a skinny white guy from Oregon. So can anyone suggest a friendly place that would allow me (as a citizen of the United States) To live comfortably on 700$ per month.

I had a friend in a similar situation. He moved to Costa Rica and met a beautiful woman. They got married last year and seem to be living happily ever after.
Nicaragua is another up and comer.
I applaud your effort, by the way.
I’m thinking you aren’t from Oregon or you would have put the dollar sign on the front end of the 700. Never the less, I recieve around $700. a month and it is less then 1/2 of the morgate in a small house in seattle. So, brother, you better go South of the border and good luck.
Interesting circumstance. Care to enlighten on the story line?
just talked to someone who has been living in CR the past 10 yrs. Property taxes are very low, but sales tax on autos is literally 50% and keeping it registered costs a grand or more per year for the first few years until it depreciates. She said you also don’t get the real estate deals like you used to.
Belize is beautiful, pro-American and english speaking.
Maybe Cambodia or Thailand.
I had a friend / co-worker who used to go to Thailand for a month at a time for several years then he ventured out to Vietnam and Cambodia as the countries opened up to Americans. He got a deal to lease a building that he uses to house tourists and a year or so later he moved there. Another friend who went with him on a couple trips to Thailand retired to go live there about a year and a half ago.
I just did a web search and it looks like his place is still running.

by the way he’s a skinny white guy too.
Belize. It’s really cheap, great beaches and they all speak good English. Or so I hear.
