Where's a good, inexpensive place to stay within the Boston Metro (public transportation) area for a family of 7?

Asked by breedmitch (12171points) June 22nd, 2009

My family wants to spend a few days in Boston this July. Anybody know of a nice but affordable hotel where we can stay that is easily accessible by public transportation. I’d like to be in Boston, proper, but anywhere close that has a Metro stop is good.

Taking into account that “inexpensive” means something different to everyone, I would probably stay out of Boston proper. With seven people, it’ll get costly.

That being said, here’s a couple of suggestions just outside the city, close to the T (which is what we call the metro. It’s short for MBTA, which is short for…ah, who cares). Anyway…

The Holiday-Inn Boston/Somerville at 30 Washington Street. It’s close to Sullivan Station on the Orange Line.

The Residence Inn Boston Harbor at Tudor Wharf is in Charlestown and close to the Community College station.

The Holiday Inn Boston Brookline is close to the Green Line.

I’m sure there are others South of Boston, but I’m more of a NorthWest kind of guy.

Hope you have a great time while your here.

come see me at Wilson Farm in Lexington :^)
