Which are your absolute favourite Medieval / Renaissance music composers / works, that you would suggest to a baritone member of a madrigail-folk-medieval choir?
Mine are… ( roughly ) :
Joasquin Desprez,
Hildegard Von Bingen,
Pierluigi da Palestrina,
and many others I’ll suggest as the thread goes on..
Thank you for your suggestions

I am not sure that its medieval or renaissance music but I like Ravel and Bolero is my favorite piece of music
Giovanni Palestrina, Claudio Monteverdi, Tomas Victoria, William Byrd, Thomas Tallis, John Dowland, etc.
That’s all I can really think of. I don’t have a ton of pre-1600 music. I also love English Country Dance like “Gathering Peascods” and “Rufty Tufty”.

More like modern…lol. Ravel is very modern. And very awesome.
@doll_face indeed.. I also adore Bolero.. Ravel is amongst my favourite contemporaries.
@DominicX some of my other favourite (Madrigails / renaissance ) ..well..You named them… ; )
I’m glad you two enjoy such good music ..
Let’s hope there’ll be more to read from others as well.
Cheers
By the way.. you guys know of any related links?
