Is it possible to make my own MyYahoo, igoogle?

Asked by saenbateman (14points) June 27th, 2009

I’ve been searching for a good alternative to igoogle, MyYahoo and similar websites like that with no luck in finding one that suits me.

I want a webpage that would show Wikipedia’s Today’s featured article in full, image, text, the same goes with BBC’s news stories of the day not just their top one. Now is there anyway I could design a website to retrieve this information everyday for me and put it onto one page?

Or do you know of a site like igoogle that would do this? They all seem to give you only a small portion of what I want.

@sanari
It says it’s a blogging platform.

It really not, you don’t have to do anything to it – just add everything to rss and it will update automatically. It has many uses.

I’ve never used RSS before but it’s not on BBC for their news stories only the little bulletin, and nothing at all on Wikipedia

@sanari
I have just found the RSS feed from BBC and it’s like igoogle and MyYahoo, not what I want.

ah, ok. Not sure what you’re looking for specifically then; good luck!

o. Well [I know this isn’t helpful], but igoogle is your best bet still.

But here is an article outlining some alternatives, perhaps it will be a start :D

Looks like you want a good RSS feed reader/aggregator. There’s a list of some of them on wikipedia.
