I will be attending the race tomorrow, so I need an answer quickly. I am on a budget, and deciding between this and a good souvenior is critical.

Binoculars only for a race? No.
That said, I think everyone should own a good pair of binoculars. How valuable is it to be able to magnify your vision at any time? They’re good for viewing nature, the moon is awesome to look at through binoculars, they’re good for concerts, and a host of other things.
I like Bushnell.
@The_Compassionate_Heretic : I completely agree. I take them to concerts that I don’t have good seats for, the beach, the woods, or just to spy on various neighbors.
You should totally get a pair to have them for always.
I have one pretty good pair that I keep in the car for interesting flora and fauna and a really excellent pair (Nikon) at home for star-gazing and birding. Unlike digital cameras, say, quality binocs will last a life-time if you don’t drop them in the lake, which I have done occasionally.
A good souvenir vs. binocs.? No contest.
Who was your high school English teacher? Shame on him or her.
NASCAR really?? Just watch the last 5 laps on TV.
@Steven, I’m already at a hotel in Massachusetts getting ready to sleep til the race tomorrow.
Yes, the purchase is a good idea. You will not be sorry you did.
