I have to make a list of ten words that SOUND heavy, light, ugly and beautiful. Not words that mean those things. This is harder than I thought.

Schoolwork? Try browsing a thesaurus, some poetry, and some print advertising and think about the word choices. I’m sure part of the point of the exercise is for you to do your own thinking.

To me, Phantasmagorical, Onomatopoeia, Infinitesimally, Androgynously, Legerdemainist,
Superciliousness, Reciprocity, Linguistical and Necromancer sound light weight.
Words like dunderhead, thump, debauch, dubbed, angharad, and kasortsiab are heavy words.

okey dokey then. Thanks to all. I will keep working. Can’t use a thesaurus… I appreciate your input. Have a good one!
One of my favorite words that sounds heavy, light, ugly and beautiful all at the same time is crepuscular. It actually means something kind of beautiful though, of or pertaining to twilight. BTW why can’t you use a thesaurus?
Heavy- brute stomp moon ominous
Light- whisper drift list
Ugly- elk yolk finger
Beautiful- lace Hawaii pearl ivory
One day [Max Beerbohm] said to [Robert] Hichens, “Do you think, Crotchet, that a word can be beautiful, just one word?”
“Yes,” Hichens said, “I can think of several words that seem to me beautiful.”
“Ah?”
A pause.
“Then tell me, do you think the word ‘ermine’ is a beautiful word?”
“Yes,” Hichens said, I like the sound of it very much.”
“Ah?”
Another pause.
“And do you think ‘vermin’ is a beautiful word?”
David Cecil, Max (1965) p. 108
Can we talk about how sexy a word “lozenge” is? Anything with that ndÊ’ sound.
Edit: How neat that it’s also a math term!
Stonehenge, unhinged, change, strange, enjoy, engine. Stonehenge would surely be considered heavy rather than sexy.
