Where on the Net can I get solid male fashion advice?

Asked by jjosephs (115points) July 1st, 2009

I’m particually interested in the casual look. I’ve come across a few sites but they tend to focus on business suits and the ’‘gentleman look’’

So you want a site that gives advice on male fashion (particularly the casual look)?

Here.

What do you need? A self-described metrosexual is on the scene.

That would be here. What do you need?

Look at the websites for stores like Gap, Banana Republic, Express and Old Navy. Casual could be hipster, prep, or banquet gigolo~
where’s epony?

This place, the trunk club, reportedly will advise you, shop for you, and manage your entire wardrobe. Note, I have never tried the services, nor am I recommending it, I just thought it was a neat idea.

…as we said, that would be here. What are you having difficulty with, and what are you hoping to achieve?

styleforum.net is the correct answer!

Where I’m from, “casual” is Carhartt washed at least 50 times and steel toed, waterproof Red Wings.
“Formal” is new Carhartt with Red Wing walkers
You don’t need anything else. If she loves you in these, she’ll love you forever.

@Lupin, what are you doing in the Midwest?

Why dont you just try to re-create looks by looking at pictures from your favorite stores online?

Try Lookbook.nu.com

@evelyns_pet_zebra I’m in western NY. Is that close enough? . Carhartts are the town uniform.
New Carhartts are formal wear.
Anything washed fewer than 50 times is workwear.
More than 50 times is casual wear.
They’re always in style!
Round these part we say: “T’aint the clothes. It’s the Man makes the Man.” ;-)

@jjosephs Check out kinowear.
The writer’s a big fan of layering and semi-casual wear but he also has some formal wear tips as well.
Some other sites I could recommend are Uncrate
and AskMen.
