Is it legal to use dvdvideosoft when downloading videos from youtube?

Youtubers have admitted to using those softwares in more than one occasion in public, and anything has still to happen to them so my guess is that there’s absolutely nothign wrong with it unless you try and sell the videos or something… Afterall youtube is free, so there is no loss of gain if you download material from it.

I think legal to download the software yet illegal to use , You are after all managing to get a copy of copyrighted music and not pay for it .

Probably not illegal in that you could be arrested, but Youtube could certainly sue you. Would they? Probably not, as @Thammuz said plenty of people do it without repercussion. But they could.

I think it depends on what you are downloading from youtube.

Some videos feature copyrighted content while others have music that’s been deemed “ok” by YouTube or was created by the user. If you’re just downloading it for your own personal viewing pleasure and there is no copyrighted stuff in there, then I’m going to say it’s okay but you should ask the maker of the video just to be sure it’s fine with them.

Using the software to get copyrighted music/videos however IS illegal…technically. I doubt YouTube could do anything about it however, since they can’t detect who is using this software. All they can do is remove the content from their site.
