Going to a family shindig on Sunday and it’s my job to make up some baked beans. If you have a good recipe, care to share?

I love cooking from scratch, but baked beans are so good from the can it is unnecessary to me. Bush’s baked beans are good, you can throw in some bacon or onion yourself to spruce it up a little if you want.
I’m afraid I don’t have a recipe , but I agree with @JLeslie….bacon is sure to make your baked beans wonderful. And maybe a little bit of molasses. Enjoy….wtf
my grandmother always used to take the Campbell’s canned baked beans and add ketchup, a little bit of mustard, molasses, and minced onion to them, and then baked them with bacon strips over the top.
Because of time, I usually doctor canned beans.
I take two cans of navy beans to start. Drain them and put them in an ovenproof dish.
Cut three strips of bacon in about ten pieces. Brown some, but not until completely cooked, in a pan.
Finally dice ½ an onion, and then saute in the bacon drippings.
Add the onion, bacon and drippings to the beans.
Pour in about ½ a cup of catsup (I use no sugar added), 1 tablespoon of country-style mustard, 1 Tbsp. brown sugar or molasses if you have it, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, and a few drops (be careful) of liquid smoke.
Bake, covered, for about thirty minutes for 350 degrees.
How about baked beans mixed in with some minced meat (not the sweet stuff!) and gravy topped with cheesy mash??
I lurve cheesy beans – grate a load of cheese into beans as cooking stir well and enjoy YUM!!
I doctor canned beans too. I add bacon and then saute onion and garlic in the bacon grease. I usually add a little mustard, ketchup, hot sauce and brown sugar. I was out of brown sugar once and used root beer instead. That was really delicious!
@jonsblond that’s what I like to hear, someone who says “Hmm, I wonder if adding this will work in the recipe…”
