Why is there a "do not write in this area" in tests and important stuff?
This xkcd comic reminded me of that, why exactly is that area “forbidden”?

That place is usually reserved for official documentation. The thing that I find weird is when a blank sheet of paper has the text on it that says: “This page intentionally left blank” it’s not blank, it has those five words on it.
@evelyns_pet_zebra if you mouse over the comic it says almost the exact same thing you said:)
If we told you, we’d have to kill you.
The “blank” pages have text stating that they’re supposed to be blank, so that you know the thing printed properly and you’re not missing any questions or something stupid.
But you already knew that. :p
If you write in the designated space, it’s evidence that you can’t read.
It’s an intimidation strategy.
Can somebody that isn’t a comedian answer this?
@simone54
I’ll try to do it.
Because they don’t want you to write on it!!!!
@simone54: You didn’t like “That place is usually reserved for official documentation”?
Either the plan is someone who processes the document is going to use that space to write or stamp or attach something to it (grade, date stamp, gold stars, comments, stapling another form on, etc), or it gets read by a computer scanner which will get confused if there are doodles in some places (e.g. ScanTron forms).
@simone54: How’s that?
It’s either for administrative use or for use by a computer or other machine.

@simone54, I answered it with sincerity up there, as the first response, otherwise the moderators would have removed it. Again, no one listens to me. I might as well go sit in the garden and eat worms.
@evelyns_pet_zebra: I listened to you and lurved you for a good answer. <3 It’s what I would’ve said if you hadn’t said it first. Which is why I went the “comedy” route.
