Wall vinyls, tacky? Where is a good place to print your own custom designs?

Asked by johnny0313x (1860points) July 14th, 2009

I was wondering how you guys feel about Wall Vinyls? Do you know a good affordable place that does large scale vinyl prints? I have white walls in my apartment with minimal shelves and pictures and I was thinking some custom wall vinyls could liven the place up. They are a bit pricey for the larger ones so I thought making my own design would be cheaper as well as more personal and fun. Where would be a good place to get them printed?

I like them. I have had in the past, and enjoyed very much. Tacky? I haven’t a clue. I think tacky is a very nasty term. If you like it, why would you care what other people think? Or if you do care, take a vote.

I don’t care, even if you all said it was tacky…I would still do it lol

i think they’re cool. i’m not sure about printing custom ones, but etsy has a pretty big variety of them. i’m not sure how the prices for wall vinyls go, but good luck finding some you like/that aren’t super expensive. (:

Check out Blik

They will do custom designs but also have plenty of choices for your walls, including a partnership with Threadless among others.

I’ve used them before and would use them again. I don’t need to now because my boyfriend works for a sign company where they have all the supplies and capabilities to create wall vinyls. You could consult a local sign company and see what their prices would be. It will probably be much more expensive than you’d like, but it could be worth a shot.

(I think they’re really neat. We’re in the process of designing a wall in our new apartment.)
