Does OpenOffice support all the standard SQL commands?

Asked by swuesquire (516points) July 18th, 2009

Hi, I’m trying to teach myself to write queries in SQL. I’m working my way through the commands in a tutorial by playing around with a free small database I found online. I’m using OpenOffice instead of Access. So far things have been fine with the exception of two commands. I can’t get the TOP command or the [charlist] wildcard to work. Does open office use some specialized variant of SQL? I tried the MySql variant for TOP to no avail.

Anyways, I realize I may just be making newbie errors, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, first post. Great site!
