What's a good cast on method for a scarf (knitting)?

Asked by La_chica_gomela (12594points) July 18th, 2009

My usual method is with two needles, and it’s extremely loose, and I’d like to do something that’s a little tighter. A link to a video would be much appreciated!

I cast one with one needle and a hand, like this… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-agt0GWELhg&feature=PlayList&p=02D1EB9D4EBE9A6A&index=1

It’s usually pretty tight for me, too tight sometimes I have to be sure to loosen it a tiny bit.

@aiwendil: Thank you! Once I got past the man whispering to her and I realized she was talking about 3 steps ahead of what her hands were doing, I actually learned how to do it! I just cast on and knitted a few rows, and it looks great! I’m really excited about my scarf!

You’re welcome! I’m glad it helped (even if the video was a little wonky).
