What do you think is the 'Point' of life?
Please don’t be alarmed, I’m not despairing or anything. No, I am just curious as to what you have concluded, if anything.

The point is to make it whatever you want it to be. You decide what makes living important and worthwhile.
The point of life is to “Pass it on”
“Life” in itself has no purpose. It is a biological (and, oddly mechanical) apparatus. There is no point other than to continue the species and carry on genes.
This is an answer I wrote in this thread:
…Personally, I think it is in man’s best interest to pursue (scientific) knowledge, as that opens doors and answers the many riddles of life. I believe we (and all animals, for that matter) were born with a natural sense of curiosity, and is one of the only common traits we share. The further we delve into understanding what makes things work, or why particular things happen – the better off we’ll be, both physically and mentally.
In terms of why we exist in the first place, or what our existences mean… haha. Scientifically, we live to continue the species, to reach out in our environment and spread our influence, ensuring humankind lives on. Philosophically, I believe we exist to explain why we exist. As I said before, we are burdened with curiosity and I personally believe we exist to question ourselves, the world around us, our motives, the future… whatever.
In a sense, I believe mankind’s goal in life is to understand why he lives.
I don’t think there is a point. Therefore, just try* * and do the best* you can with every day.
*best defined here as what you feel is the most meaningful and satisfying and beneficial way you can spend your time.
**try: this is sometimes very hard.

@AstroChuck You,re getting confused with the ‘Meaning’ of life.(-:
@Astrochuck Surely that is the answer to the question “what do you get if you multiply six by nine?”
To perpetuate itself, both directly by survival and indirectly through its offspring.
To fulfill to requirements. When you die one day, you won’t regret for wasting your time on doing nothing.
Buy/find/download and listen to ‘The Point’ by Harry Nilsson and let me know what you think :-) It might answer your question!
The point of life is to love, cry, laugh, hate, shout, swim, jump, run, play, make love, drink, be merry and gain experience until one day you figure out what the point of life is.. at which point you die.
To realize that life has no point.
To strive to be the best you can ever be.
@Grisaille My first ever question on this site! Loved your answer. Lurve again to you for that!
Seeking the truth, be curious (true to our adventurous roots), wonder at the beauty and strive for the impossible. Always questioning, always looking for love and be loved, planting your feet firmly on a miracle called Earth..what more of a Point do you need?
To create more life, either by reproducing, or by turning into food, or both.
@AstroChuck – I thought this was the meaning of life. Don’t tell me Mikey has it wrong…?
Life has no point, it just is. Just like mountains and oceans have no point, they simply exist.
this is sort of like the question, what is the purpose of your belly button? it’s only purpose is to break up the monotony between your nipples and your genitals.
@fiilmfann no! I mean 6×9! If you had read all the Hitchhiker books you’d understand.
The point of life is so we can figure out what the point of life is.
Here’s a suggestion from Don Beck:
The meaning of life is
- focusing on the good of all living entities as integrated systems
- expanding the use of human brains
- blending and harmonizing a strong collective of individuals
- realizing that your self is part of a larger, conscious, spiritual whole that also serves your self
To appease the Fluther gods in whatever way we can.
@filmfann its good to know fellow fluthers are wide read and cultured
My conclusion?
FUN
I could elaborate, if requested.
