How can I build a webpage that people can comment on pictures and recomend the ones they like?

That took about ten minutes. It allows ratings and comments and ratings. But you have to be logged into comment. I’m sure that can be changed.

I might find a dummies book on the subject. I love those things!

I’ve never heard of those programs, so I can’t really help you out there. Most of the tutorials out there rely on HTML and whatever database stack you’ll be using, so as long as you can get to the code in your program it’ll be ok. You DO know how to code HTML, right?

But a word of caution – you sort of don’t sound like you know what you’re doing here. If you try to code a secure style application such as this without knowing what you’re doing, you will be met with failure, likely in the form of an injection attack that deletes all of your data (after the hackers steal it, of course, you’d be surprised how many people use the same passwords for everything).

I say this of course because I am a trained web developer who could create such a website within a few hours. This style of website requires database interaction, if you don’t know SQL you’re out of luck. And if you try to learn it via a tutorial, you will not learn how to prevent injection (and other) attacks which will take your site down in a humiliating way.

Thus my recommendation to you is to find someone on Craigslist who can code this up for you. Even if you want to learn how it works, you can look at their solid code to understand it and learn like that. A dummies book about SQL would help, as would one about web design if that is not a skill you have.

You could also use an open source image gallery of which there are hundreds. I’ve used Gallery with great success.

The thing is that I want to implement an idea for profit and to make the story short people can log in and post an ad of their business deals (like a coupon or something like that) then people can leave a comment and send it to other users of the page… it will be fun and functional at the same time. don’t want to post all the details here just the main idea. anyone can tell me how to make that kind of webpage?
