Strange random pain in leg?
I started having this pain 2 days ago now and it is very random. I have had lower back pain on my left off and on before, maybe from sleeping or sitting turned at the computer, etc. but the shooting, uncomfortable pains are in my upper right leg. It definitely isn’t muscle, it feels like its in my bone. It only lasts about 20 seconds or so. I haven’t done anything lately and I’m in good health overall. Could I have a pinched nerve or something else going on?

Does the pain occur randomly while sitting or does something cause it like shifting your weight or getting up? Whatever the responses you get here, it is best, of course, to see a doctor.
Very random…while I’m sitting, walking around, driving, laying in bed…whenever! Maybe about 6–10 times a day since Sunday. I am a 31 year old female if that helps at all.
I have had the same pain you decribe in my arms and legs before, and I am told it is from low blood pressure
It might be from a ruptured disc or bone spur pressing on your sciatic nerve. That causes lower back pain, leg pain and sometimes a dragging foot.
Sciatica
Don’t mistake us for doctors, except for the two docs who are flutherers.
Low bp traditionally causes light-headedness and balance problems. IANOD
Anyone know if this may may be a symptom of hypothyroidism?
Go to your doctor or Hospital Emergency Room for a real diagnosis.
I vote Sciatica. Go get it checked out.
I third sciatica. How old is the mattress on your bed?
Definitely get it checked out by your physician. Although it does sound like sciatica, it could be something more serious like deep vein thrombosis, which can be fatal.
Random shooting pains in the leg sounds like a neuropathy, of which sciatica is but one. You certainly should be evaluated by a doctor, though to answer some other questions from above, it is highly unlikely to be due to hypothyroidism or low blood pressure.
By the way, this could be as simple as needing arch supports in your work shoes.
