For me it’s a day when everything just seems to go right.

When there are no disasters.
Waking up again. I’m grateful just to still be alive
Talking to certain people, or waking up to a cloudy day.
If my son is in a good mood or not. If he’s whiny and bratty, then the day sucks for me…especially if he doesn’t nap. Nap time is mommy time. Mommy needs her sanity.
(cool. i just posted this on my bio) I consider it a good day when I manage to avoid paper cuts & static shocks. (i get them a lot. ‘hate it.)
if I’ve made a “to do” list for the day, and get all or most of it done, that’s a good day.
also a good visit with a friend really makes my whole day better. :)
If I get more than three hours of sleep, am not brought to tears by pain, and experience no irreversible disasters, it has been a good day.
Not getting accused of being a dog murderer.
<<bitter.
Getting the balance of work and family right and putting the kids to bed with smiles on their faces :-)
I think my best days are my most productive days. I always feel like it’s been a good day if I’ve gotten a lot done.
For example, today was a good day! I ran behavioral trials with my fish till lunch, whilst listening to jaunty tunes. Then I made a delicious cheddar and tomato sandwich. I went back to work and set up 20 new tanks for my second fish population (more jaunty tunes were involved!). For some reason I feel even more productive (and therefore it was a “better day”) if I did manual labor, so the most satisfying bit was filling the tanks using my trusty bucket.
#1 ingredient to a good day for me is plenty of sunshine. I don’t even have to be outside for this to lift my spirits considerably. After that, it’s ‘puttering’. Doing a little of this, a little of that, and being in no particular hurry about any of it. I get a lot accomplished like that, but don’t feel worn out by doing it.
Today is a good day.
Why?
Because I said so.
When I remember to say it’s a good day, or use the future tense in that regard (even better – it will be a good day) – magically, it does become a good day. The power of suggestion works on me – even if it’s just coming from me. Good to be a schitzo. It helps in these cases.
@NewZen Well said. A day is good because we decide it’s good.
