Get an AT&T cell phone now or wait a month?

My gf’s mom is eligible for a new phone. She’s a very basic user, so I’m thinking the Pantech C150. I just want to make sure nothing new (and free w/2 year contract) is coming down the pike given CES, etc.

I used to work for att and every month of so they are offering up new “free” phones but so keep in mind A) you get what you pay for and B) they are “free” after a mail in rebate.

I work at Best Buy and one of the nice things about it is that their phone are the posted price without any mail in rebates. I haven’t seen the Pantech phone you’re talking about but there were a few good, basic phones that were free at the register.
