Have you given thoughts to unburdening yourself of your soul?

a nice scheme to extort money from people who should know better.
to store the “soul” they would have to create a digital copy of the entire human neural network, and i am not aware of any technique that allows one to “read” the physical structer of the entire brain down to the neural level.
“After careful testing (more like hocus pocus dance) to ensure a safe de-souling, the patient is placed into a machine that resembles a large MRI unit (read mockup). The biochemistry behind the procedure is impossible to explain to a layman (read: it is all made up, so of course it can’t be explained), but basically, the soul is “tricked” by a chemical that makes it think that the body has deceased (read: we think you’re dumb so you’ll believe that crap anyway, also we’ll sedate you so you don’t realize it’s all fraud). The soul, in a manner of speaking, “rises to the top” like cream separating from milk, where it is then vaporized, extracted from the nervous system, and crystalized in a glass storage jar that becomes the soul’s new home until reembodiment (and then carried by a white bunny in its mouth through the magical hat into the ghostbusters ghost containment unit).”
It clearly is a fraud or a joke.
yea this is for the movie “Cold Soul” starring Paul Giamotti
yeah my topics didn’t finish
supposed to say let me know if this is a hoax, i think it is a hoax
but in any regard, I’ve read a book long ago about how people have tried this very thing, IRL
so it’s still a valid topic and I just wanted to use the link as a springboard for discussion
The quacks that peddle this modern day snake oil certainly haven’t got a soul thats for sure. it is nonsense my love, not to mention unethical
Why would one want to unburden oneself of one’s soul anyway? Unless the Devil is involved and offering some really good perks, or you want to become very successful in business or war, I can’t see why anyone would bother.
Personally, I plan on keeping my soul for a while, but have given thought to unburdening the body. ( A very inexpensive procedure one can do at home, btw….)
They can have my soul if they want it, but I wouldn’t pay them to store it. Now, if they wanted to store my libido, I might seriously consider that…...

NOT!!!!!
I have to wonder
do they have one that puts it back in?
is it the same machine?
what happens if they lose it or it becomes damaged?
and if I don’t have one and go, what will it extract?
and
do they have a gift shop?
do they sell extras for those that no longer have one?
hmmmmm…......
* scratches head *
I wonder….
@BluRhino But the clean up can be quite expensive, so doing it yourself means you really don’t care about the survivors. Or that you already have unburdened yourself of your soul.
Will it effect the income status of Haitian voodoo practioners?
@Darwin; I have given this some thought; and this is where ones’ creativity comes in – there are ways to do this so one disappears completely, thus eliminating any cleanup or trouble for others. No body, no soul, no problem!
@BluRhino – Just don’t do it in Dr. G’s jurisdiction. She can figure out who you are and how you got that way from the tiniest scraps.
As much fun as it would be to have her probing my nooks and crannies, my plan was to be long gone before any one even knew…Hell, I could have a stroke and die right here and it would be weeks before anyone knew; only the stench would give me away. (ironically, my nephew and brother-in-law drive right by my house twice a day)..but seriously, many many people have disappeared without a trace, (see the Phil Schneider story.. http://www.apfn.org/apfn/PHIL.HTM" ) and there are not a lot or resources for searching for them. Anyway, I have moved on from that,as I still have things to do, and I need a body to assist in the education of my soul. (I think)
