I think I am sick of political cartoons.
Honestly I didn’t laugh. It’s kinda funny but its not good enough to make the forward list.
“Political cartoons are obtuse and uninspiring.”
… Or you could respond to the message.
Obama=repubs.
It seems @boots and i share an afinity for Time.com’s cartoon of the week feature. I think it’s not so much funnny as a snarky way of pointing out a blatant truth about a recationary minority trying desperately to derail any kind of positive legislation that might lead to increased support for any democratic candidate in the future. They know the program will work but have gone so far as to publicly state that they plan to delay a vote on the healthcare reform bill as long as humanly possible to see if they can just flat out kill it.
This is middle school bullshit… are these really the people we elect to represent us?
I was afaid it would be another “mom” joke.
Poop it is. ;)
I don’t read it as Obama=repubs at all. I see it like Dr C sees it. << ‘See’ what I did there?
AH! I did read it wrong… I thought the nurse was requesting that Obama out the scalpel in their hand…
It’s pretty funny and made me chuckle!
I’d have liked it better if “scalpel” had been spelled correctly.
yeah political cartoons sort of grow tiring in a hurry. for a political cartoon it is a little humorous though.
as for the message, I think it can hold water, at least. Honestly I think a nationalized health care system will be for the best down the road, but it’s going to hit some bumps for sure, and unfortunately that political drivel and dog yapping is going to make it even more difficult than it originally would have been regardless.
I could do better with the same idea.
This was a question fail on my part…
It’s ok boots. We still lurve you.
Pretty bold there Dr. C. Can you give evidence that they know it works? Can you give evidence that it even works to begin with?
I’m not interested in a discussion. I’m interested in someone showing me some new facts. So ley em out.
@w2pow2 you know i wish i could provide you with stats and facts and studies.. and trust me i looked. The fact is my comment was more a critique of the attitudes displayed by our representatives in delaying any form of real change (not just in this administration.. it happens in every white house and every congress and senate). The problem with finding facts that prove that an untried system (untried in this country with this particular set of values, cultural trends and overall atitueds and perception) is that there’s no possible way to prove that something works beyond a shadow of a doubt (or disprove for that matter) if it hasn’t been implemented yet. No one can foresee the future and no one can be certain that any kind of political action and or plan will work until it’s put into effect.
So i’m going to have to owe you on the facts… but i can tell you in my personal opinion.. whether it turns out in the future that it worked or not.. i think it’s worth a shot to overhaul the system… at least try something different from what we already know doesn’t work instead of dumping more money on the problem.
