Fluther, rhymes with Brother, but w/o the R.
I think it’s Fluther like butter and brother if you spell it bruhtherr
Why would it be pronounced in any other way than the way it’s spelled?
Same as Evan, just phonetic.
i mean..
…
Where’d you get the name Fluther?
A fluther is a group of jellyfish, like a gaggle of geese (or a taint of tilapia).
“Fluther” is pronounced /‘flʌ ðɚ/. It rhymes with “brother” and “mother”.
Fl-uh-thur. (Fluther.)
Br-uh-thur. (Brother.)
M-uh-thur. (Mother.)
Yes, they’re all similar.
@SuperMouse, first l’d like to say, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on the 10000+!

@SuperMouse
@Eambos and
@allie. (if I spelled any of your names incorrectly, I sincerely apologize! My iPhone has just quit working) I don’t even know if this is working as I see no txt.
Now… Great job, Great Answers! Terrific Pronunciation
It says under the “What is Fluther” page. It refers to a group of jellyfish (like a gaggle of geese, only this is a fluther of jellyfish) and it rhymes with mother, and brother, and other.
If the rhyming examples don’t suffice, here are more specifics as pronounced in American English:
— fl as in “flower” and “fly”
— vowel sound of o the same as the vowel sound in “up,” “rough,” and “some” (and “mother” and “brother”)
— th hard, as in “then” and “leather” and “father” (and “mother” and “brother”)
— er as in every other unaccented final syllable ”-er” (including “mother” and “brother”)
@Evan I never knew that! Awesome!
