Why is it solely MY responsibility to prevent forest fires?

I did not sign up for this! I was just walking in a park one day, minding my own business when saw a poster with a bear pointing at me, informing me that I am obligated to stave off all of the world’s forest fires. It really seems like a lot for just one guy to do. I am not up for it.

We don’t need no water, let the mfer buuurrrnnnn.
I always did think Smokey was a pompous, patronizing buffoon.
Never trust a bear wearing a hat
Aww..He’s so cute. And I especially love his little buddy, Boo Boo!
@Zendo I do believe that was Yogi Bear, unless your being sarcastic
@kyle94481 How do you expect me to keep these bears separate? After 40 yeas, no less.
Out of all the animals in the world, only humans and maybe apes can foolishly light a lighter in the middle of a forest.
Beyond that, I’m not sure if the bear telling Mother Nature to prevent forest fires would have much of an effect. If anything it could piss off Mama Nature and cause her to make more!
Thus signs for humans are the only choice. And it’s much better than the bear telling you to start forest fires, right?
If you have ever seen the devastation left behind after a major fire, you would know why it is your responsiblity (and everyone elses’) to do everything you can to prevent forest fires.
Because, only YOU can do it! No one else. Smokey says so.
If you get caught using fire irresponsibly in the forest, Smokey will come up and hit you in the face with a shovel. Don’t say you haven’t been warned!
We picked your name out of a hat. It was that one day you called in sick.
The rest of us TRIED to do it, but we sucked at it. So, it’s all up to you. Who ELSE is gonna do it?
That’s not our fault. We picked your name fair and square, now do your duty!
