Problem with printer connections/programs?

I have a Canon Pixma MP600. connected to my Dell desktop. Whenever I try to scan a document using the printer, the computer opens “Sonic MyDVD” or something like that, and believes the printer is a digital camera.

Did your printer come with some Canon software for scanning? If so, just close MyDVD and open the Canon software. If you don’t have Canon’s software installed, you can get it here.
