How much money do you make?
Maybe this isn’t a polite question to ask, but I’m hoping the pseudo-anonymity of the Internet will allow for an open discussion.
What do you do? Where do you live? How much do you earn? I’m curious to see the differences across different professions and regions.

Hmm, this is easy. I’m a grad student, so…...let’s just say I live below the poverty line.
interesting question! I’m a grad student and am paid $18,000 for the academic term. But in my former life, I worked as a program associate for a non-profit in Austin, TX and made about $40,000.
firefighter $40,000 & part time job as a driving instructor $12,000 for a total of $52,000 in Louisiana
My full-time job as a web designer pays me a salary for $48,000 a year. I also freelance pretty heavily on the side for about an average of $35,000 a year, so a total of $73,000 a year on average.
I am currently working on a Ruby on Rails project that is going to take the place of the freelancing, and is hopefully going to make me a few million!!!:)
I am a union electrician in NJ. 35 an hour. Pay about 9000 in fed taxes alone, nevermind 2000 a yr in car insurance (no accidents, no points) and forget about gas and oil heat.
