Is there a way to get Google Reader keyboard shortcuts to work with Fluid?

Asked by eponymoushipster (20307points) August 3rd, 2009

I have a Fluid app set up to use for Google Reader. However, the keyboard shortcuts don’t work – at all. I can’t star or skip to next inside the app while reading, which is frustrating for a variety of reasons. Is there a way to make them work or am i missing something?

I think there may be shortcuts for fluid overriding some of your google reader ones. Have you checked to see if any of the shortcuts overlap?

@dverhey yeah. Google Reader doesn’t require the Cmd key for it’s shortcuts, unlike Fluid. So just pressing “N” should advance you to the next article. Fluid has a Cmd-N function, but no plain “N”, as far as i’ve seen. I wonder if there’s a way to pass them thru somehow.

Check in the “Shortcuts” pane of your SSB to see if there’s an N there. If so, disable it and see what happens.

great suggestion, but there’s no “N” shortcut. there was an “S”, and i disabled that. but “S” (star) doesn’t work even after that.

thanks anyways.

Hmm. Well.

Good luck. I’ll post here if I find anything out.
