What are your thoughts on the work of Dario Argento?

You all must be really great fans of art.

Is he as good or as well established as Fellini?

The only film I saw that Argento was involved with was Demons. Man that movie was awesome!
I’ll see if I can see any films Argento directed on youtube

The Mother of Tears was pretty good! I think he’s a little gory and pornographic! But I like his movies!

I’ve only seen the bird with the crystal plumage and I ejoyed it a lot,in my oppinion, it’s a great film compared to others in the genre, Argento knows how to keep you interested, and the argument seems original to me. I think giallo films are perfect to spend the afternoon watching one with your friends; they’re fun cause of blood splitting, italian beauties, thriller-like argument and that special halo that envolves pulp and exploitation films, know what I mean? I’d say all these elements are very well represented in his film (just needed more blood) and based in what I heard, all of his movies are as good as the bird with the crystal plumage or better.

I encourage you to see some more of his films, definitely.

I’d recommend Cat ‘o Nine Tails. It has a similar feel to it as The Bird With The Crystal Plumage.

I’ve seen several of his works, and the only one I’ve truly liked is the Masters of Horror episode called “Pelts.”

@boots I did! I’ve seen all of MoH. I can’t recall off the top of my head exactly what I thought of Jenifer, and LiveJournal (where I keep all of my reviews) is down right now, dammit… :(

boots, I often talk about how for particular questions, you should go to more specialized forums. if you posted this to a horror movies forum you would get tons of informed and involved responses.

I love Argento! The only director I like more is David Lynch…
