What are they saying when gameshows are over?

Asked by beatthelastboss (306points) August 4th, 2009

Its hard to explain, but I will try. If you have ever seen the daily show, at the very end when he is next to a guest, as the lights fade and the audio stops, they say a few things. I have no idea what they are talking about, but I have always wondered. Anyone have any idea? Thanks.

Talk shows? I’m sure they’re just chatting. It probably varies from show to show. I don’t think they’re saying the same thing every time. Am I answering you at all?

It’s just idle chat. After the cameras stop, the production team swoops in and cleans up shop and hustles the people to the green room or out the back door or wherever they go after the show.

I have been to many different tapings of games shows and talk shows, and I can assure you that all they talk about is small talk, like “did you enjoy that”, “you did just fine” “the production people will talk to you after the show” “do you have any questions?” “see, it went better than you expected”.

Yeah, probably just small talk. It would look awkward if they just sat there and didn’t do anything.

“yada yada yada”

Probably small talk and the host assuring the guest it went well.

There was this joke I wanted to post up but i felt like it might have been a bit much

They’re laughing, saying, “Everyone watching thinks we’re engaging in serious conversation, so play along for another minute until the credits have run.”

Like when you hit a parked car and write a note. All the passersby think you are leaving the owner a note with your identity and phone number, when in reality the note you wrote says, “Hi, sorry, I hit your car. I have no insurance so good luck repairing the dent.”
