What is Drupal? In laymans terms, please.

Please don’t say it is simply a content management system. I need examples of what it does and what kind of websites it builds, etc.

Just look at some of the sites in the showcase for examples of what people have done with it. It can be used for just about any kind of site you can think of. Which is why it’s a content management system….

In the hands of a skilled and experienced Drupal and PHP developer (or team), it can do just about anything a website can do.

in layman’s terms, Drupal is like an Operating System for your website. It’s called a Content Management System. I use a CMS called Joomla for my Boy Scout Troop website giftown.net/bsa and I can make users and submit articles to the newsletter much like a blog, and allthough as a programmer I have no problem with it, you don’t have to see a line of code to use a CMS. Drupal and Joomla are both free, but Joomla is more business/organization oriented, and Drupal is better for a social group site.
