Music Festivals (like Lollapalooza, which I'm going to Friday), are you allowed to bring in your own beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)? It'd be so much cheaper that way. Anyone know?

I know at the concerts that I’ve been to, the prices were ridiculously high (for watered-down brew). We’d love to bring our own.

It is always cheaper and fun to bring your own. But, you have to hump it around. Big cooler, lots of Ice. Bring plenty to drink. So many times I have run out.
If you are cool with that then go for it. BYOB is always the best way to go.
This all aplies if you are going to do a bit of drinking.
I’ve heard of being able to bring in a factory-sealed water bottle but that’s it.
Check the website for the specific festival. There’s usually a FAQ page with a list of things you’re allowed and not allowed to bring in.
You could always smuggle in a flask with run or something, then you’ll only need to buy soda.
You may bring the following items:
Blankets
Umbrellas (small hand-held style)
Soft-sided coolers
Baby Strollers
Two factory sealed water bottles up to 1 liter each
Empty Camelback or other empty plastic container (i.e., Nalgene bottle)
Binoculars
Non-professional equipment or cameras without detachable lenses
The following items are prohibited:
Weapons of any kind
Illegal substances (including narcotics) or drug paraphernalia
Framed or large backpacks
Alcohol (alcohol will be sold at the Festival)
Glass containers
Food or beverages, except for two factory sealed water bottles up to 1 liter each
Skateboards, scooters, or personal motorized vehicles
Bicycles inside Festival grounds (bike racks are available near the box office)
Carts
Large chains or spiked jewelry
Fireworks
Explosives
Large umbrellas
Chairs of any kind
Hard-sided coolers
Tents
Pets (except service dogs)
Video equipment: No video recording will be allowed
Professional still camera equipment (no detachable lenses, no tripods, big zooms, or commercial use rigs)
Any audio recording equipment
No illegal vending is permitted. No unauthorized/unlicensed vendors allowed.
No moshing, crowd surfing, and/or stage diving
Unauthorized solicitations, handbills, sampling, give-aways, etc.
Metal aerosol cans, including sunscreen in aerosol cans.

It really depends on the festival in question and their security. Some are openly cool about it, some say you shouldn’t but don’t really do anything about it and some are real fuckers and thoroughly search all bags etc.
According to the website Lollapalooza doesn’t allow you to bring your own alcohol to the festival

@coffeenut…. i feel like you may have left out the all important not in that first line…. unless illegal substances (including narcotics) are overtly encouraged.
shhhh don’t tell anyone
could be entertaining when they get to security
also their are two separate lists ( I just forgot to put a space)
