What's the best way to get people in my mafia for Mafia Wars on Facebook?

Search for groups on facebook called “500 members fast” and so on. People in these groups don’t care if you add them only to be friends in Mafia Wars.

Word of precaution though, this game is utterly pointless and time consuming :)

You don’t have to join the groups, just click on members and send a friend request (I always designate mine with a message that says “MW” or something like that). That way, you are in control of who you add as a friend. I posted on one of those groups and got a lot of new “friends” for MW… Including a pervert from Indonesia who wanted to know some lovely details about me, my anatomy, and my personal relations to put it nicely. If you want indiscriminate friends requests, just post in one of those groups and let them pour in. Personally, I’ve just been adding females and people who come to me through my other friends after that experience with Harry the Perv.

The thing to be careful with is adding too many people too fast. This can earn you a visit from the “pink box” and a possible suspension. Its a feature built in to prevent spammers and such that can make life difficult for those trying to grow mafias and that kind of thing.

normally when you join one of those 500 members fast groups, they will always have a thread open with emails listed. Copy and Paste the entire list into the invite friends for facebook, you may want to send a note out like “mafia wars invite”. And before you know it, literally within hours you’ll have close to 500 new friends.

I did the same thing, and once I had my 500 people in my mafia, I removed all of them from my friends list.

I’m a level like 335 or something crazy like that.

As a side, I gave up on that game. It was no longer fun. The entire game revolves around you getting more and more friends and picking the right traits at the beginning. So sure, if you don’t mind having 1000 fake friends in your Facebook account, it’s a great game. But for people who actually use facebook, there is no real way to win. And thus I gave up, gifted out my stuff, and tried to pry it from my account, eventually having to block it to shut it up.

If you want to add more friends though, go to their forums, you’ll find a huge paragraph of emails to add and become friends with. But it will take lots of time to clean up your facebook account and everyone will see you having millions of friends. If you’re OK with it, then it’s easy to win that silly game.

You can block entire applications on Facebook. That means that nobody can send you an invitation or anything from that application. :)
