the Dock in OS X can be made to slide on and off the screen. Also, i know there are individual applications that do this; i had one, though i forget the name now – i don’t use it anymore, that was a note taking app that slide on and off.
Would using Spaces help with your needs?
Would Rocketdock be of any help to you ?
I use it on windows , but the link is for mac .
@eponymoushipster Sidenote is the notetaking app that slides offscreen. It’s great.
@sandystrachan Rocketdock is only for windows, I believe. The link of yours is just a skin for the windows app to make the dock look like OSX.
Sorry, though @ctferrarajr. I don’t actually think there is an app out there for that. I would just try a combination of the Dock like eponymoushipster mentioned, maybe a few Yahoo Widgets, or if you want to be really nerdy you can use Geektool to embed command lines on the desktop. But I think the dock or dashboard may be your best bet if you don’t want to do a lot of tinkering. If you do though, you could look up some Geektool stuff on lifehacker. It’s a neat little program if you get some good scripts for it.
@dverhey Yea you are correct , it is just a skin i should have read it properly .
@dverhey Sidenote looks great! Not exactly what I was looking for but still cool. any other slide -off apps you know of?
