How do I IM a question to Fluther?

How do I IM a question in? I’m told that I can submit questions via IM, so that way I can use this service on the go with my mobile phone instead of at my computer using the website? – PS: please stop making me edit my question and complaining about my spelling. At this point I might as well cancel my account and give up if you people aren’t going to help me out!

IM flutherbot with the word “ask”. he’ll guide you through the process. :)

Type ask in IM he / sends you a reply there you type your Q or type cancel to stop it . He / she really gets excited when you type ask .

Just tell what the screen name is!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. the way you worded your question, i took it to mean you at least knew how to access the bot, but not the command. my apologies.

You didn’t say you didn’t have the bot , you made it more difficult for yourself by not saying how to get the bot aswell . Think here then follow the on screen directions , follow the above mentioned posts to send IM Q’s .

How was I supposed to tell you I didn’t know about the bot thing…if I didn’t know about it!
Not everyone here is a power user and knows this kind of stuff.

Well thanks sandystrachan: you answered the question. your link took me to the place where I added my screen name. I then logged in and verified it and posted a test question. I think it worked. I didn’t get my answer back via IM though.

Glad you got it working , you sounded as tho you had it installed before to save the time and hastle you could of said am i ment to install something to get the bot ? Then people would know where you were at, then you would of got a great response that would have sorted your problem right away .

@sandystrachan Had what installed? I didn’t install anything! I like how you people tell me to say “I should have said….” and then something I never knew about. I can’t tell you something I don’t know. I’m sorry, but this service is pathetic. I think I’m going to Mosio.

When i said installed i was referring to verifying the bot , and sorry you wasn’t good enough for fluther. Maybe oneday when you feel its time to come back , we will always be open armed and waiting .
If you didn’t know about the bot how did you know to ask this Q ?

@sandystrachan Don’t tell me I’m not good enough. Sorry, but you need to work on your grammar. And its not my fault they don’t make this service user friendly. I asked the question though the website by clicking the big ASK button on the homepage.

I didn’t know i had to work on my grammar oh masterful one .
Oh wait i know i do , i will openly say i am a dumbass . Yet does it make me a moron , maybe it does . Do i care NO ! . I will also openly say i do not know how to use proper grammar and punctuation , does that make me a lesser person?
