I have a problem with left and right also, but turn toward the driver side, or the passenger side usually helps, and I also do well with North, South, East and West.
if he has a handed clock, use the numbers.
I’d go meet him. Then we walk to our destination together.
I just thought of another answer. If he is using a phone, have him look for the L on his thumb and pointer finger, then hold his phone on that side, then say turn towards the phone side, or the other side.
Well, if you know the area really well, I would use landmarks, to help him find the place where your at. I had to do that alot. Like do you see a 711, go to the next street, and make a left, then your going to see a house on your right with a giant heart painted on the garage.
Ask him his nearest cross-street. Go and pick him up.
If he’s on foot, he clearly can’t be that far.
LOL I would just go and find them.
P.S. @ragingloli a “handed clock” is called a watch or wristwatch.
@XOIIO Very few watches or wristwatches have hands on them these days – ragingloli meant an analog clock as opposed to a digital clock.
A digital watch would also work, or just say turn toward the hours (which would be left) or turn toward the minutes (which would be right). I know these things because I have had to have people explain them to me when giving directions. My grandson once gave me directions by saying turn toward your ring hand side, now the bare hand side when he was helping me with directions.
I had a friend who had a similar problem. I told her to push her turn dinkey up or down according to the intersection she was at and look at the way the arrow pointed and follow it.
@Kayak8 That’s a new one for me, and would work well in a car.
