“Hi, you’ve reached XXX-XXX-XXXX. Please leave a message after the tone. Thank you.”

don’t use your name. XXX-XXX-XXXX is your phone number, too. (obviously)

It is best not use cutesy messages if you give that number out to your employer or potential employers, professional services, etc.

When I answer the phone, I always say “Hi, this is (my name) and I am able to take your call.”
Yeah, I get lots of people hanging up on me. Why?

Mine says:

“Do it”
BEEP

@eponymoushipster That makes me miss seinfeld.

@chyna that episode was on tonight, no less. i miss it too. can’t wait for Curb Your Enthusiasm this season, with the cast!

@eponymoushipster I have never watched it, but you would obviously reccomend it. I think I will try it this season. Is it one of those shows where you really should have watched from the first to know the players?

@chyna not really. maybe read up on it on wikipedia or something. essentially, it’s Seinfeld, if it was on HBO.

“If possible, please hang up and text me rather than leaving a voicemail.”

Mine says:

Maybe I’m home,
And maybe I’m not
It’s (my name)‘s voicemail you’ve got.
Leave a message at the sound of the tone,
And if you’re trying to sell something….
leave me alone.

I’ve always wanted to leave the message in Spanish! Or maybe Pig Latin. I mean, really! The word “Beep” is the same in all language! except not maybe in Pig Latin…I don’t know Pig Latin
