How much do you pay for your iPhone per month?

Asked by Mtl_zack (6781points) August 14th, 2009

Specifically, I’m curious about students living in another city who contact home every once in a while. What are the specifics of your plan? Did you have to haggle?

If you don’t wanna say the exact amount, a range is good too.

I don’t have an iPhone, but I believe the plans cost $60 per month…for a reasonable amount of minutes, and unlimited text and “data plan” usage…that is, all of the web and apps that come with the iPhone.

I just wanted to respond because I thought your last sentence was funny. Why would someone be secretive about the exact amount of their iPhone bill? “Well, I can tell you it is between $45 and $70, but I am definitely not going to tell you the exact price because that is my own private information!”

@girlofscience haha that’s so right! Personally I have no problem with it, but there are some people who just don’t like discussing their debts or other financial things with friends.

The cheapest voice plan is $40 a month for 450 minutes, the iPhone data plan is $30 a month. Texting is more, $5 for 200 messages, $15 for 1,500 and $20 for unlimited. If you want more minutes then it starts going up.

I doubt you’ll be able to “haggle” with anyone at AT&T. They don’t have authority to do anything with the prices. You may be able to get discounts if you work at a large company that has partnered with them though. I get 15% off for being in the Air Force, but they work with a lot of civilian employers too.

Around exactly $100.

Around $ 90 a month for two iphones with unlimited internet use and tons of rollover minutes. Also free long distance and about 70 texts a month. We get 25 percent discount through my husband’s employr.

In the UK for comparison. I pay £45 1200 minutes if calls, 500 texts, unlimited data and access to wifi from 2 different providers (the cloud and BT).

Also MMS works!

I was just wondering the same thing last night. I also wondered if anyone uses it to talk, or mainly for the apps, ha ha!!

I very very rarely use it to talk. But I very rarely talk on the phone at all. Don’t have a home phone at all and rarely use the cell phone to talk. Much prefer texting or emailing.

I don’t have an iPhone, but I have what the iPhone is modeled after – the HTC Touch Pro. And it costs a little over $100 for unlimited everything.

Lightlyseared's avatar

How can the iphone be model on the htc touch pro when it was released a year earlier.

jho1188's avatar

@Lightlyseared Actually, the original HTC was released 2 years before the iPhone and features everything the same as the HTC Touch Pro. The only differences are cosmetic and some upgraded internal things. Bill Gates paid 200,000 dollars into HTC to copy some of their work for the iPhone because the style & design were his “perception of what he thought class was.” Check with HTC if you have any further questions – 866–449-8358.

Hm. Somehow I don’t trust the information of someone that thinks Bill Gates had anything to do with the iPhone.

I’ve been looking into purchasing an iphone here in New Zealand. The costs here are much higher it appears than in the US or UK.

Our plans look like this:

$40 per month for 20 minutes of calls, 100 txts & 250MB of internet usage (.89 per minute thereafter and .20 per txt)
$60 per month for 60 minutes of calls, 200 txts & 250MB of usage + as above additional if plan exceeded.
$80 per month for 120 minutes of calls, 600 txts & 250MB of usage + as above
$130 per month for 250 minutes of calls, 600 txts & 500MB of usage

YOWSERS!

I live in holland and the plan here for an iPhone 3Gs 16GB would be 100Euro for the phone.
29,95 euro per month for unlimited internet, 150 minutes, 150 messages, nobody bothers with mms, so I’ll leave that out.
26,25 one-time connection fee.

I see it more as 30 euros to have internet in your pocket and a great portable computer with revolutionary apps that will only grow.
150 minutes of speech.. will be fine for me

@jho1188 sorry but you said the HTC Touch Pro was the phone the iphone was modeled on. Clearly this is wrong.
